Newshogg – PayPrick, eh?

What’s that on the horizon? Is it the veiny, undulating flesh of the Newshogg?

Paypal are were dicks, Ouya continues to be inscrutable, DARK SOULS 2 NEWS, and Canadians get in on some of that sweet Kickstarter action. It’s aboot time, eh?

Red Thread Redemption

Everything has since become sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, but for a while there, the future of Red Thread Games’ PayPal pledges looked uncertain with the default bank of the internet putting a freeze on the funds.
On the one hand, it makes sense that PayPal would be wary of this new crowdfunding thing and would want to try and protect their customers, but on the other hand, this is a company that has a long history of faux pas, and many vocal critics.

Xbone Unified

In our very first positive Xbox One news bit, it has been announced that Xbox One will have built-in Unity support sometime later this year. If you don’t see why this is possibly a big deal, go and play SUPERHOT, Receiver, Space Hulk, Sir, You Are Being Hunted, Kentucky Route Zero, or simply go look at the rest of this list to be convinced. As far as I’m aware, this is the first piece of good news for indie devs to come out of the XBONE camp.

Ou, aren’t ya a stubborn lot

A couple of weeks ago we mentioned the weirdness surrounding Ouya’s Free the Games Fund. Two Kickstarter projects have come under scrutiny (one of which was suspended), and whilst Ouya admit there are problems with the fund, they don’t appear to be willing to change anything about it… at all.

Blame Canada

Canadians – America’s Wildlings – are now able to launch Kickstarter campaigns. Honestly, I didn’t realise they couldn’t before now. That’s why I am merely the Newshogg’s translator, and he’s the one in the awesome fedora.

Dark Souls 2: Dielectric Boogaloo

Dark Souls 2 Beta registration is now open… For those of you lucky enough to live in the EU or Japan, and who own a PlayStation 3. Opt-in here and know that I hate you with the heat of a Ceaseless Discharge.
